Why choose the
Society of St.
de Paul for Your
car donation?

"Money raised
locally serves the
poor locally."

The SVDP National Vehicle Donation Program offers some distinct advantages:

    • Used car donations may be turned into money to provide critical items such as food, shelter, housing, care for the elderly, or medicine.

    • Your goodwill, tax deductible donation is tied directly to your location.  That means your car donation will help someone in your immediate community.

    • If necessary, the car donation can provide much-needed transportation.  Individuals living in poverty often have trouble obtaining cars. Difficulty finding
reliable, affordable transportation adds to the burden of poverty, and your donation may provide transportation to someone allowing them the dignity
of keeping a job to support their family.

What's a good donated vehicle?
Whether your vehicle is a late model sedan, a classic collectable, an unfinished project car or an
old clunker gathering dust in the driveway, SVDPUSA in coordination with Auto-Donation.com will
turn any vehicle into a valuable donation to bring hope and assistance to those in need. We are
very happy to accept non-running cars too!

Why is the SVDP National Vehicle Donation Program important as compared to the numerous
donation programs?

Q. Given so many similar programs available, why should I donate to the SVDP National Vehicle Donation Program?
A.  The Society of St. Vincent de Paul directly serves the poor and those in need in your own community and in communities around the world.
The proceeds from your vehicle donation will  provide essential needs such as food, shelter and housing, elderly care, medicines and much more. Society
volunteers strive to seek out and help those in need in countless communities throughout the United States. No work of charity is foreign to the Society.

Q. Are vehicles utilized by families in need?
A. Yes, and those needs may vary by community. The SVDP National Vehicle Donation Program is both a fundraiser and a way to assist those in need.
Depending on the need, we turn your vehicle into program and services dollars or if it is desired by a local SVDP, your donation may provide transportation
to someone allowing them the dignity of keeping a job to support their family.

Q. How does The Society of St. Vincent de Paul National Vehicle Donation Program extract the highest value from your vehicle – no matter
its condition?
A. We look at each car and evaluate the “Best Venue Decision” to raise the most money. We will look at the Wholesale auction market, depending
on condition.  We also consider the recycling of vehicles to be good business and good for the environment. A recycled car can be used for car
replacement parts. Scrap metal yards also specialize in taking old metal and selling it to companies to turn into new item

Will I receive a tax deduction for donating my vehicle?
The sale of your vehicle will support a 501(c)(3) charitable organization so it is tax deductible. Since each donor’s tax situation is different we recommend
that you consult your tax professional.

How will the value of my vehicle be determined for tax purposes?
As of January 1, 2005 the IRS has taken the guesswork out of determining the value of your vehicle for tax purposes. If your vehicle sells for less than $500
you can claim the fair market value of your vehicle up to $499.  If your vehicle sells for more than $500 you can deduct the actual sale price of your vehicle.
Auto-Donation.com will provide you with a receipt after your vehicle is sold.

When will I receive a receipt for tax purposes?
Your receipt will be generated as soon as the vehicle sells. In most cases you can expect a receipt within 30 days from the time we pick up your vehicle.

What should I have before I call or go online to donate?
Please be ready to provide your vehicle’s year, make, model or vehicle identification number (VIN) and current mileage. The vehicle does not have to be
running, but you will need to describe the condition of the vehicle and disclose any structural damage

What happens after I submit my donation?
After completing the form a confirmation email will be sent to you once you select "Submit Now." You will print, send, and sign a copy of the confirmation
email/odometer statement and send it with the signed vehicle title and any other pertinent documentation as required by your state to the Processing
Center and once we receive your paperwork we will start the vehicle donation pick up process.

Your vehicle automatically qualifies for the Rush program and we will immediately coordinate the pickup/drop off of your vehicle.

Our average pick up time is 1-2 business days from the date of assignment. After your vehicle is sold you will receive a receipt by mail for tax purposes.
Please contact us at 800-322-8284 if you have any questions or special needs during the donation process.

Where will my vehicle go?
Auto-Donation.com employs an exclusive process called Best Venue to ensure that each donated vehicle generates the maximum donation for the charity.

Most vehicles are sold at live auctions to licensed dealers, recyclers and exporters from around the world. This competitive marketplace of buyers
generates the greatest return for the charity while ensuring that your vehicle is sold in an efficient, environmentally friendly and legally compliant manner.
